A weak atmospheric river system is bringing scattered showers and gusty conditions across Southern California on Monday, with varying rainfall chances throughout different regions.

The light precipitation is expected to begin around 8 a.m., with rainfall amounts ranging from one-tenth to half an inch across affected areas. The National Weather Service has also issued a wind advisory that will remain in effect through Wednesday.

Los Angeles and Orange counties face cloudy skies with temperatures between 50-63°F and a 50% chance of afternoon showers. Coastal areas will experience similar temperatures of 51-61°F but with a higher 70% chance of rain.

The valleys and Inland Empire can expect occasional drizzle and gusty winds, with temperatures reaching 67°F during the day and dropping to 48°F overnight. These areas have a 20% chance of precipitation.

Mountain communities will see windy conditions accompanied by snow flurries, with temperatures ranging from 26-48°F. Desert regions, including Palm Springs where temperatures will climb to 80°F, should prepare for strong winds and a 20% chance of rain.

This weather system brings much-needed moisture to the region, though rainfall totals are expected to remain modest. Residents should stay updated on changing conditions and exercise caution during periods of gusty winds.
