As Veterans Day approaches on November 11th, communities across Southern California are gearing up to honor those who have served in the United States armed forces. In Los Angeles County, several cities are hosting parades and observances. Pasadena's celebration will pay tribute to the 2nd Battalion, 23d Marine Regiment with a Yellow Ribbon Ceremony, featuring music, speakers, and a flyover at 11:11 a.m. The San Fernando Valley Veterans Day Parade kicks off at 11:11 a.m. in Mission Hills, led by grand marshal and former U.S. Army Specialist Edward Landin.

West Hollywood's ceremony will focus on LGBTQ veterans, while Santa Monica's event on the pier will include military flyovers and demonstrations. Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills will host its 65th annual Veterans Day Celebration, complete with patriotic music and a wreath-laying ceremony.

Special Events

The Queen Mary in Long Beach is offering a free celebration for veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families. Attendees can enjoy self-guided tours, entertainment, and the opportunity to write letters to active-duty service members.

Redondo Beach will hold an observance at Veterans Park, featuring Colonel Andrew Dermanoski of the U.S. Space Force as the keynote speaker. Other cities, including Azusa, Alhambra, Baldwin Park, and Carson, are also organizing Veterans Day ceremonies.
