America needs both California & Texas to be incredibly competitive:Gov. Perry
There is need to promote a good, healthy competition between Texas and California to make the two states as well as the whole nation prosper, Texas Gov. Rick Perry said.
Addressing members of the Commonwealth Club at a grand hotel atop Nob Hill on Wednesday night, Mr. Perry stressed that he was in San Francisco to promote a healthy competition between the two states and to criticize California.
He added that he was in California to lay out how he did in Texas economically, and let California decide which of his state's policies could suit the Golden State.
Speaking on the topic, he said, "America needs both California and Texas to be incredibly competitive, incredibly successful. I'm here to lay out what we've done in Texas, economically, and let you decide which one of those economic policies best suits you."
Mr. Perry also stressed that increasing competition between California and Texas was a good thing and it would help the Golden State in gaining economic turnaround. Earlier, he drove up to the Hyatt hotel in a Tesla Model S electric car, in a bid to convince the electric car manufacturer to build its next battery factory in Tesla.
Lawmakers of both states want Tesla to build its new battery factory in their states as the planned factory will provide a boost to the state economy in which it will operate by generating more than six thousand jobs.
Mr. Perry is not a very beloved figure in California because his policies encouraged many Californian businesses to shit their operations to Texas, which hit the Golden State's tax revenue hard over the past few years.
