Drew Barrymore’s Half-Sister found Dead with Dozens of White Pills

Jessica Barrymore, half sister of Drew Barrymore, was found dead in her car in San Diego on Tuesday (July 29).

Many white pills were found to be scattered on Jessica's passenger seat car. Those living near the place where her body was discovered said her car had been parked there since midnight. Fire department officials have not been able to report the cause of death so far.

Drew Barrymore, 39, is the youngest child of actor John Drew Barrymore of the Barrymore acting dynasty. The New York Daily News reported that Jessica, whose birth name was Brahma Blyth Barrymore, was the third child of the actor and his fourth wife, Nina Wayne. Drew Barrymore's mother is actress Jaid Barrymore.

John and Drew destroyed their affections as he abandoned Drew, when she was just a baby, and her mother. Drew Barrymore has admitted that she had a turbulent childhood and struggled with addiction over the years including alcohol, marijuana and cocaine, all before the age of 12.

Drew has two daughters with her husband Will Kopelman. One is Olive, 22 months, and Frankie, three months.

Drew gave her sincere sympathies to Jessica's friends and family. In a statement to PEOPLE. com, the star said: "Although I only met her briefly, I wish her and her loved ones as much peace as possible and I'm so incredibly sorry for their loss".
