Crash-landing of Small Plane on Florida Beach Kills Two

Negligence of the pilot killed two as the pilot landed the plane on a beach thinking it was a deserted beach in Florida. Passengers aboard the plane and the pilot were safe after the landing.

The pilot said that he did not see both of them and crash landed on the beach leaving both in critical injuries. The pilot also apologized to the family members. The pilot, adding on to his apology said, the plane crashed into the water hitting from the nose after which I realized that there were people on the beach.

According to the sources, U.S. Army Sgt. Ommy Irizarry, 36, and daughter Oceana , 9, were walking by the side of Casperson Beach in Venice, Florida on Sunday when the accident took place. Father was killed on the spot and the daughter was taken to the hospital. The local airport got an alarming call that the plane could not reach back to the airport, they added.

The girl was airlifted to a local hospital in St. Petersburg. She later succumbed to injuries.

Wendy Rose, spokeswoman for the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, said, “He knew he couldn't make it back to the airport and was going to try to land on the beach. And he did land at the edge of the water on the beach”.

Sources reported that the plane lost its power which resulted in crash-landing. The Federal Aviation Administration has given assurance about investigating the case carefully.
