Sony, Microsoft reportedly planning to launch their next-gen consoles soon
According to reports, Sony and Microsoft have efforts underway to bring the successors of their current-generation gaming consoles, the PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One respectively, to the market soon.
The next-generation PlayStation to be launched by Sony will be the PlayStation 5 (PS5) version; while Microsoft’s new console will be Xbox Two. Both the new consoles will boasts a number of significant enhancements over the existing consoles; and will reportedly come with virtual reality (VR) gaming capabilities.
Going by a Parent Herald report, the Sony PS5 console will unfold substantial innovations, with the company evidently planning to remove disc drives on the device. The design changes which Sony will reportedly incorporate in its PS5 console will come against the backdrop of increasing popularity of ‘streaming’ as well as other technological advancements. As such, the Sony PS5 console will likely be a thinner and sleeker device, with greater portability.
About the Microsoft Xbox Two console, a Latinos Health report has revealed that the device will be VR compatible and disc-less, and will probably feature 4K resolution. The new console will also reportedly include full backwards compatibility.
Moreover, a Tech Times report has disclosed that Sony and Microsoft are in talks with microprocessor-maker AMD, to bring to their next-generation consoles a type of hardware which can increase console performance by up to five times per watt.
