Company to Begin Oculus Rift Pre-Orders

The founder of Oculus Company, Palmer Luckey, has announced that they are likely to open pre-orders for Oculus Rift headset early in 2016. The announcement comes amidst several consumers desperate to buy a virtual reality head mounted display headset. The desperation is owing to a number of showcases, trailers, presentations and teasers of these new devices. The headset is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2016.

The Oculus Rift will be the first of its kind virtual reality headset that will be available for purchase by the consumers. Palmer is also the founder of the Oculus VR. “The Rift is actually good. Kind of like how fancy wine competes with muddy water,” Palmer replied to a query posted by a fan over the price of the headset. The innovative device might be sold for hundreds compared with Google’s cardboard VR kit worth $20.

Paler also said that the cost of the headset will eventually reduce subsequent to technical improvements and scaling up of operations. At present, the Rift will justify its higher price with its amazing quality.

He added that prior to opening pre-orders consumers will be informed in advance, since the company earlier reported that pre-ordered headsets will be delivered with ‘EVE Valkyrie’. The Oculus Rift will be equipped with full HD 1080x1200 resolution per eye, along with a 90Hz refresh rate and a wider field of view. In addition, it will have a couple of 3D audio effect-headphones for an overall improved experience.
