Apple will likely unveil Apple Watch 2 and new 4-inch iPhone in March 2016
According to a 9to5Mac report released on Tuesday, tech biggie Apple will likely hold a media event in March 2016 to announce its second-generation Apple watch smartwatch; and probably even a smaller, 4-inch iPhone.
Going by the 9to5Mac report, based on the information shared by unidentified sources familiar with Apple’s plans, the Apple Watch 2 smartwatch will seemingly be shipped by Apple in April.
As such, the expected March announcement of the second-generation Apple Watch, followed by its shipping in April, will put the smartwatch on an annual launch cycle like the iPhone. The first-generation model of the Apple Watch was shipped by Apple in April this year.
The Apple Watch 2 version will apparently boast a few upgrades as compared to its predecessors. The new features and functionalities which are expected to be introduced in the second-generation smartwatch include a FaceTime camera; additional health tracking capabilities; sleep tracking functionality; and markedly less dependence on the iPhone.
Meanwhile, so far as the speculations about the introduction of a 4-inch iPhone in March 2016 is concerned, the 9to5Mac report has revealed that the handset will seemingly be dubbed ‘iPhone 6c.’ It will be an affordable low-end iPhone model, which will be powered by an A9 processor, and will come with support for the Apple Pay mobile payment system.
