OnePlus officially makes OnePlus 2 handset “invite-free…forever”
In an announcement made via a recent forum post, Chinese device manufacturer OnePlus said that it is officially dropping the ‘invite’ requirement for its current flagship handset, OnePlus 2, with effect from December 5, 2015. The move announced by OnePlus comes in coincidence with the company’s second anniversary.
According to the announcement, the OnePlus 2 handset will now be available for purchase by anyone interested in buying the handset.
With OnePlus having ditched the invite requirement for OnePlus 2, customers will no longer have to wait for an invite -- either from OnePlus or from an existing owner of the OnePlus 2 handset --- to buy the device. They will be able to purchase the handset whenever they want to.
Revealing that the OnePlus 2 handset is being made “invite-free…forever” from December 5, OnePlus said in the forum post that the move is essentially aimed at enhancing the OnePlus experience for customers.
OnePlus further said that customers will “never again need an invite to purchase the OnePlus 2,” and added: “We're proud to be able to make the OnePlus 2 invite-free so soon and hope this will make getting your very own OnePlus 2 a cheerfully easy experience."
