NASA calls for new generation of astronauts

NASA is all set to recruit new astronauts next month. The selected candidates will go through tests that will check their abilities and reveal their level of endurance. With time, space exploration and its related missions have become complex, challenging and much more diverse.

Now there is so much to explore in space and some exciting activities have been planned like Mars mission in the 2030s, landing on the moon and maybe on asteroid as well. Astronauts are exploring the uncharted territory.

NASA now wants to add fresh talent and has been looking for pilots and scientists. Except technical requirements, NASA wants candidates to be in perfect health condition and having easy-to-go personality.

According to NASA, it is must to maintain cordial relation with colleagues, mutual respect and support while carrying out tasks in space. NASA said that it is not a joke to spend four months in space. In the last four years, it is the second time that US President Obama and NASA have invited a new batch of astronauts.

As per the head of NASA’s Astronaut Selection Office, the first and main task for the US space agency is to choose 8 to 14 candidates. Preference will be given to those having bachelor degree or above and three year’s experience working. Then, they will go through a number of medical tests, evaluation tests, aptitude tests and interviews. In 2017, the final selected candidates’ names will be announced.
