Google introduces new game-recording feature for Play Games app

Tech giant Google has revealed in a Wednesday blog post that it is giving its Play Games app a boost by introducing a new feature which will enable users to record as well as share all the action from their favorite mobile games.

The new feature which Google is rolling out to the Play Games app will give the users the option of a new record button within the app. The users can tap on the button to record their gameplay in 720p or 480p.

In addition, the record button of the Play Games app will allow users to add self video, as well as commentary, through the front-facing camera and microphone of their device. Upon the completion of their gaming session, users can also edit their video and upload it directly to YouTube.

In reference to the new game-recording feature being introduced to the Play Games app, Google said that gaming broadcasts are a "growing phenomenon." The company also drew attention to the fact that 144 billion minutes of gaming videos and live streams are currently being watched YouTube users every month.

About the availability of the Play Games app’s new game-recording feature, Google said that it will start the rollout of the feature to the US and UK users in the coming days; and will “soon” expand the availability of the feature to users in more countries.
