Motorola DROID MAXX 2 --- a “max value” mid-range handset
The new DROID MAXX 2 handset which Motorola and Verizon unveiled at a press event held in New York City on October 27 can be described as a “max value” handset in mid-range category. The handset is priced at $385.
The DROID MAXX 2 is one of the two new DROID handsets which were introduced by Motorola at the New York City event. The other new DROID handset – which grabbed most of the attention at the event – was the DROID Turbo 2 handset.
Though the design language of both DROID MAXX 2 and DROID Turbo 2 handsets is basically the same, the former has a comparatively smaller form factor and is also much easier to handle with one hand.
The DROID MAXX 2 handset features a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS LCD display; and is powered by the latest, power-efficient Qualcomm processor -- the Snapdragon 617 SoC. The processor has an octa-core configuration, and is coupled with 2GB of RAM.
Some of the other noteworthy features of the new DROID MAXX 2 handset include a 21-megapixel back camera equipped with an f/2.0 aperture lens and a dual-tone LED flash; a 5-megapixel front-facing camera; a massive 3630 mAh battery; and 16GB onboard storage capacity, with a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
