BlackBerry opens pre-orders for ‘Priv’ Android-based smartphone
Canadian smartphone manufacturer BlackBerry has revealed in a recent announcement that its much-reported Android-based handset – called ‘BlackBerry Priv’ - is now available for pre-order in the US, Canada, and the UK.
According to the announcement made by BlackBerry, the company’s new Priv Android-based handset -- featuring the company's well-known tactile QWERTY keyboard -- can be pre-ordered in the US for $699; in Canada for $899; and in the UK for £559.
BlackBerry will start shipping the Priv Android handset on November 6.
Some of the key features of the BlackBerry Priv handset include a 5.4-inch dual-curved screen; a physical slide out QWERTY keyboard; an 18-megapixel dual-flash Schneider-Kreuznach certified camera; and 32GB onboard storage capacity, with MicroSD slot for storage expansion up to 2TB.
The BlackBerry Priv handset also comes with a massive 3410 mAh battery which has sufficient power to last for up to 22.5 hours of mixed use. The handset will also boost the inclusion of the DTEK application, which has been designed to facilitate users in managing and protecting their privacy.
