Microsoft CEO discusses new Lumia handsets’ killer feature --- ‘Continuum’
In a recent interview with The Verge, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella discussed the most noteworthy ‘killer’ feature of the company’s latest Lumia handsets --- the ‘Continuum’ feature.
‘Continuum’ is a new feature introduced by Microsoft for its newest Windows 10 handsets --- Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. The feature gives the new Lumia handsets the capability to run as actual Windows 10 PCs - running full versions of Microsoft Office – when they are plugged into an optional dock adapter.
Discussing the ‘Continuum’ feature of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL handsets, Nadella said that the feature unfolds a possible opportunity for selling the new Lumia handsets in the emerging markets of the world.
The capability of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL handsets to run as Windows 10 PC can possibly be a huge selling point for the new handsets in emerging markets. Since most of the people in emerging markets cannot afford a PC, and only want a smartphone, Microsoft could benefit from the fact that the new Lumia handsets can also function as PCs.
Against the backdrop of the advantage of the ‘Continuum’ feature of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL handsets, Nadella said: "Think about an emerging market, like where I grew up. This (new Lumia handset) is the phone I would want."
