Amazon adds seven new devices to its Fire lineup
In a recent announcement, online retail giant Amazon has announced the launch of seven new "members of the Fire family." The onslaught of new devices from Amazon comes close on the heels of Apple’s last-week unveiling of its next-generation iPhone 6s and 6s Plus handsets, the iPad Pro, and revamped Apple TV.
The seven new Fire devices which have been announced by Amazon cover different price points and capabilities for tablets as well as media streaming devices. However, Amazon has not announced a successor of its disastrous Fire Phone.
The new additions which Amazon has made to its Fire lineup of devices include four new tablets --- a $50-priced 7-inch Fire tablet; a $100 Fire Kids Edition tablet; a $150 Fire HD8 tablet; and $230 Fire HD10 tablet.
The 7-inch Fire tablet is a compelling value proposition in the low-cost tablet arena; while the Fire Kids Edition is specifically aimed at children. The new Fire HD8 and Fire HD10 tablets are somewhat standard upgrades of Amazon's higher-end Fire tablets.
Meanwhile, other than the four new tablets, the other three new Fire devices launched by Amazon are Fire TV Stick with Voice Remote, Fire TV 4K with Alexa, and Fire TV Gaming Edition; which are respectively priced at $50, $100, and $140.
