HBO Now service becomes available to Verizon broadband customers
In an announcement made on Tuesday, HBO and Verizon said that they have signed a new partnership under which the Internet-only HBO Now streaming service will be available to Verizon Wireless broadband customers and wireless subscribers.
As a result of the partnership announced by HBO and Verizon, the April-launched HBO Now streaming service has become available for sign up for Verizon broadband customers and wireless subscribers, with immediate effect.
A 30-day free introductory trial of HBO Now streaming service can now be started by Verizon's broadband internet customers; to gain instant access to the standard HBO content, including series such as ‘Game of Thrones’ and hundreds of movies, as well as sports and comedy specials.
The service, which is now available via the verizon.com/hbonow site, will be accessible across different hardware platforms -- Android, iOS, Apple TV, PC, Mac, and Amazon Fire TV.
At the end of the trial period, Verizon's broadband internet customers will be able to keep the HBO Now Internet-only streaming service by paying a monthly subscription of $15.
About the availability of HBO Now service to Verizon's broadband internet customers, Ben Grad - Verizon’s executive director of content strategy and acquisition – said on Tuesday: “HBO Now brings compelling content and choice to Verizon broadband customers today – and exciting possibilities for HBO content within Verizon’s pending mobile video service.”
