Square Enix: ‘Rise of the Tomb Raider’ will hit PS4, PC in 2016
In a Thursday announcement, video game publisher Square Enix said that the latest game in the Tomb Raiser series – ‘Rise of the Tomb Raider’ - will be available for Windows 10 and Steam platforms in early 2016; to be followed by PlayStation 4 during the 2016 holiday shopping season.
However, when the Rise of the Tome Raider is first launched on November 10, 2015, it will be an Xbox exclusive --- it will be available only for Microsoft’s Xbox One and Xbox 360 gaming consoles.
The announcement by Square Enix implies that the Rise of the Tomb Raider game will come to the Sony PlayStation 4 console nearly one year after its availability on the Xbox platform.
Specifically speaking, Square Enix said in a statement that Rise of the Tomb raider “will be a console exclusive to Xbox One and Xbox 360 for one year after its initial launch, coming to PlayStation 4 (PS4) in Holiday 2016.”
Square Enix further added that the development of the game for “additional platforms,” like Windows 10 and Steam, is being led by famous video game developer Crystal Dynamics.
