T-Mobile: Each line on Simple Choice family plan can now get 10GB data for $120
On Tuesday, July 14, US wireless carrier T-Mobile announced a new promotion which is part of its latest Un-carrier Amped campaign. The carrier said that the subscribers of its Simple Choice family plan can now get 10GB of high-speed 4G LTE data, along with unlimited calling and texting, for each of four users of the plan for a total of only $120 a month.
The special 10GB family offer announced by T-Mobile for the members of Simple Choice family plan will be available through Labor Day, September 7. The promotion starts from July 15; and customers can continue to avail the 10GB family offer as long as they stay on the plan.
The 10GB family offer is available on T-Mobile's shared plans which begin at $100 per month for 2 lines ($50 per line). Though each additional device costs $20 per month, customers who sign up before Labor Day will get a fourth line free; with the monthly cost of four lines totaling $120.
In comparison, the 10GB family plan is offered by T-Mobile's bigger rival Verizon is priced at $80; with 10GB shared among all the members of the plan.
Asserting that shared data offered by bigwig carriers is "just a scheme concocted to trick customers into overpaying or to slam them with overage fees," T-Mobile CEO John Legere said in a statement: "We're bringing sanity to family plans and peace of mind to data-hungry families-because that's what the Un-carrier does."
