Construction Jobs’ Growth in Florida reduced significantly in June

A lately released employment report has unveiled that growth of construction jobs in Florida has gone down significantly in June. It is quite strange as construction sector jobs in the state is considered to have proved beneficial in the economy for months.

This June, construction sector has added just 100 jobs. On the other hand, it added 2,260 jobs in the same month last year. The Associated General Contractors of America said that not only in Florida, but the decline in the construction industry has been seen nationwide.

The fall across the nation is the biggest since 2001. The group said that worker shortages in many parts of the nation are responsible for the decline. However, then also Florida's economic recovery is still better when compared with that of the nation. In fact, Florida's economic recovery is more than the nation.

Last month, 5,000 jobs were added by Florida in trade, transportation and utilities and 4,300 were added in professional and business services. In the section of manufacturing, 300 jobs have been added. Experts said that comparing job counts in trade and manufacturing, the number is almost same.

On the national level, 237,000 jobs were added, which is a 16% decline from 281,000 in June 2014. No change has been seen in the number of employees in small businesses, as they added the same number of them as they did in May. When talking about the medium-sized companies, they added more workers than a month ago.
