California State Fair offers blend of entertainment and information

The 2014 California State Fair started on Friday and will run through July 27, providing visitors with a lot of entertainment and information.

The fair offers interesting exhibits, delicious fried food and cool and thrilling rides. There will be many popular athletes, DJs and a tricks-explainers emcee that will provide a personal extreme riding experience for thrill-seekers.

The one and a half acre California Forestry Center, which has been open for more than four decades, will allow visitors to experience a chainsaw carving display before meandering through a grove of over forty native species.

The show in which a carver will work on a unique piece of wood art will bring some extra excitement to the forest.

Speaking on the topic, Program director Carrie Wright said, "We have this educational exhibit filled with information but a lot of time that needs to be coupled with entertainment so people can learn all the facts and figures as they're having a good time."

In addition, visitors will be allowed to take home free seedlings to set up their own miniature California forests.

The organizers of the state fair have launched an online tool that allows interested people to make an account on the California State Fair website, castatefair. org, and remain abreast with each day's events, exhibits and special activities. Using the tool, one can easily figure out the place and time of one's favorite events at the fair.
