Google’s I/O Conference could see launch of Android M
Google’s I/O conference is a major event for software and app developers across the world. The event is usually used by Google as a platform to launch new features or new versions of its Android platform. Google could unveil new version of its popular operating system for mobile phones, Android M.
Google has not released any information about Android M and most of the information available at the moment is based on rumors and reports published by technology websites. Google has not announced release date for its new operating system Android M.
Almost a year back, Google unveiled Android Lollipop. According to a report published on BuzzFeed, Google’s Android M could allow fingerprint authentication which means users will not have to feed their password for login on apps.
Android M could offer massive changes in the notifications. Integration with Android Auto and smart home features are also expected. The new OS could also improve security settings and also might have better encryption technologies.
Google I/O conference is also a platform for developers to discuss some big ideas that could change the way people interact with their devices. Mobile devices have witnessed massive advancement in the last few years. App and game development has emerged as a key area for software developers.
This year’s conference will kick start next Thursday in San Francisco. So far Google has not provided any detailed information on any of its big plans.
But a look at an online agenda of the company gave some exciting news. At the top is good news for Android fans.
Virtual reality has once again become a trending topic with Microsoft introducing its HoloLens mixed reality goggles earlier this year and Facebook’s Oculus announcing the consumer version of its headset will ship in early 2016.
At previous year’s I/O Google released its Cardboard glasses that can connect to a smartphone.
And now in the beginning of this year, Google and partner Mattel also revealed a first look at a revamped virtual reality View-Master using cardboard and Android.
Android has maintained its leadership in the smartphone OS segment. With more companies working on Android based smartphones, the operating system and app platform will continue buzzing for years to come.
