Hillary Clinton’s emails released

In another bid to win voter confidence, Hillary Clinton handed over 55,000 pages of Libya-related emails she used throughout her time as secretary to the State Department, amidst significant decline in her favourability rating and concerns about her honesty and trustworthiness.

The state department has released 900 pages of this email from Hillary Clinton’s private account on Friday which reveals that Clinton received a fairly steady flow of information about the political chaos inside Libya throughout 2011 and 2012. Additionally the emails provide information about Hillary’s personal life and her workings as the secretary of state.

However, repetition of information and huge gaps between a total of about 300 emails provide little substantial data for the Republican investigation. The Republicans on the House Select Committee, who have been investigating the Benghazi attacks for the past year, have acknowledged the relative lack of new information. Therefore, the committee which received these Libya-related emails in February has asked for the entire collection.

Trey Gowdy, Republican Committee Chairman, stated,” It is important to remember these email messages are just one piece of information that cannot be completely evaluated or fully understood without the total record”.

On the other hand, the Democratic loyalists have accused the republican allegations as an attempt to tarnish the Clinton’s reputation.

Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., ranking minority member of the committee has charged Gowdy with ‘dragging out this political charade to harm Secretary Clinton’s bid for president’.

Clinton on her part seems determined as she asserted that she wants to testify in public before the committee and she was glad that the emails have started to come out as she wants people to know the truth at the earliest.

Nonetheless, the media beloved has a tough road ahead of her presidential nomination amidst recent criticism over Clinton income, hue around her not taking press questions for 21 days and accusations of getting speaking fees from lobbying groups as all this could demoralize her democratic voters.
