Playtonic outlines its “dream” stretch goals for Yooka-Laylee
Playtonic Games studio smashed through its Kickstarter crowdfunding target of £175,000 for its first game – dubbed ‘Yooka-Laylee’ – within 24 hours of the launch of the campaign. Yooka-Laylee game is scheduled to launch on Nintendo’s Wii U console worldwide in October 2016.
With the currently-ongoing Kickstarter campaign for Yooka-Laylee witnessing stupendous success, Playtonic Games is now outlining its “dream” stretch goals for the game.
Since approximately £1,300,000 has thus far been pledged from more than 37,000 backers, Playtonic has stated in its latest Kickstarter update that it has already achieved additional stretch goals pertaining to the addition of an N64 shader mode, GK Rap and developer commentary video to its Yooka-Laylee game, which the studio is touting as a ‘spiritual successor’ to Banjo Kazooie.
The next stretch goal for Playtonic’s Yooka-Laylee Kickstarter targets reaching £1.5 million. The studio has claimed that the achievement of the mentioned stretch goal will give it the ability to “budget an orchestral score and time for our composers to record their music in an ideal environment.”
Further adding that the extra funds which are raised for the Yooka-Laylee game will “of course go towards improving and polishing the game,” Playtonic said has in its Kickstarter update: “We’d like to take this opportunity to once again thank you for your wonderful support. But we know it’s not pleasantries you’ve clicked for, it’s our next stretch goal – So bring it on!”
