California nurse sent to jail for having sex with woman’s corpse
A Californian nurse who had sex with the corpse of a woman he cared for in a hospital has been sentenced to two years in state prison.
Alejandro Lopez Razo, 62, was found guilty of having sex with the corpse of an 82-year-old woman while he was assigned with the task of preparing the corpse for the mortuary at Sherman Oaks Hospital.
Razo was caught with his pants down by another nurse at the Southern California hospital. The elderly victim had died of natural causes several hours before he made sexual contact with the corpse.
Prosecutors told the court, "Soon after, while the defendant was alone with the deceased victim, another nurse walked into the room and discovered Razo with his pants down, having sexual contact with the woman's corpse."
During the two year sentence in the Los Angeles County Jail, Razo will also have to attend sex offender meetings. In addition, he will have to get psychological counseling during his six months of supervised release.
The court also prohibited Razo from any nursing activity and directed him to stay away from the Sherman Oaks Hospital until further notice. Razo might have committed many more offences of the similar kind as he had been in the nursing profession for more than two decades.
