Bruce Jenner receives appreciation after revealing he is transgender

Bruce Jenner has been appreciated for his decision to reveal that he is transgender. LGBT rights activists praised him for his ‘bravery’. According to the Olympic gold-medallist, he had spent most of his life feeling that he was woman; however he did not want to hide his feelings for long. After the revelation, he was admired by equal rights activists for his courage, after he revealed about his feeling.

According to leading LGBT spokesman Peter Tatchell, founder of the Peter Tatchell Foundation, "It is awesome, brave and inspiring that such a high-profile, top-class former athlete and TV reality star has come out as transgender. It will give hope and confidence to the many people who are struggling with their gender identity”.

Tatchell added that the care and acceptance shown by Bruce's ex-wives and his children indicate how families should treat transgender siblings, parents and children.

Jenner refused to reveal that by which name he would be known after his transition, in the interview with Diane Sawyer, for America's ABC network. However Jenner spoke frankly about his story. When he was asked if he is a woman, the decathlete said that yes, he is a woman.

He said that opinion of people is different from what he feels. According to him, they look at him as a male, but he feels different in his heart and soul. He added that although, he was not born a woman, but has always been identified as one.

After his interview, Kim Kardashian tweeted: ‘Love is the courage to live the truest, best version of yourself. Bruce is love. I love you Bruce. #proudDaughter’
