Twitter announces official launch of ‘Retweet With Comment’ feature
Popular microblogging service Twitter has announced the official launch of its 'Retweet With Comment' feature. The launch of the 'Retweet With Comment' feature comes after a testing of the feature by Twitter since summer 2014.
Announcing that the 'Retweet With Comment' feature has now been officially launched, Twitter said that the feature is now available on the social network's website as well as its iPhone app. In addition, the feature will soon be made available on Twitter's Android app as well in the near future.
According to Twitter, the 'Retweet With Comment' feature gives Twitter users the ability to embed a tweet in their own tweets. As such, the feature enables users to circumvent the social network's 140-character limit when they write their own comments to be embedded in a tweet.
Till now, Twitter allowed users to embed quotes by cutting-and-pasting its URL. However, the launch of the 'Retweet With Comment feature enables users to embed quotes merely with the press of a button. But, unfortunately, the feature does not allow users to embed the full retweet and comment.
Nonetheless, with the help of the 'Retweet With Comment' feature, Twitter users can now share and comment on tweets without the need to shorten the original tweet; thereby enabling them to preserve the context as well as meaning of the original tweet.
