Snoop Dogg to develop Drama Series for HBO

American rapper Snoop Dogg is well known for his music, now he has decided to venture into family drama by developing a series for HBO. According to annoucement made by Dogg in Austin, he has partnered with American premium cable and satellite television network HBO to develop a family drama.

While providing information about the upcoming project, the `No Guns Allowed' artist said that HBO is the number one network in the world. "This is a dream come true to be able to tell a story that's going to be told the right way on the right network", he added.

Dogg did not reveal more detail of the upcoming project, but according to report of Deadline, the series will be set in the 1980s and focuses on a family whose idyllic life is turned upside down by the conflict of their community. The rapper had recently made a buzz-worthy appearance on the season finale of American television series `Empire'.

Dogg has not revealed the name of the series, but the reports stated that he has teamed up with Ted Chung, Allen Hughes and Rodney Barnes to executive produce the series. Rodney Barnes will also write the script, while Hughes to be on board as director.
