2015 GDC drew record-setting 26,000 attendees; 2016 GDC date announced
According to an announcement made by UBM Tech, the organizer of the 2015 Game Developers Conference (GDC), a record-setting number of game industry professionals attended the GDC event this year.
The announcement by UBM revealed that the 2015 GDC event, which was held at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco last week, was the most popular GDC ever --- with a record attendance of 26,000 professionals from the game industry. In comparison, the number of attendees at the 2014 GDC event was 24,000.
The disclosure by UBM that the 2015 GDC saw a record-high turnout implies that the game industry is in a healthy state; despite the fact that the event now witnesses the miscellany participation of indies and big companies developers; along with mobile developers, creators of console games, PC manufacturers and virtual reality supporters.
Meanwhile, with the attendance record-setting 2015 GDC event having concluded just last week, UBM Tech has already turned its attention to the 2016 GDC event which will mark the 30th anniversary of GDC.
As per an announcement made by UBM, the 2016 GDC event will be held from Monday, March 14, through Friday, March 18, 2016; with a call for submissions to be opened in summer this year.
