AT&T: San Antonio businesses can now make unlimited calls to Mexico
In an announcement made on January 20, US wireless carrier AT&T said that its $5-a-month AT&T World Connect Value plan now gives San Antonio business professionals the ability to make unlimited international calls to their clients in Mexico.
Announcing the new service, AT&T said that it is offering San Antonio firms the ability to make unlimited calls to Mexico because of the fact that Mexico already is San Antonio's biggest export market and cross-border trade partner.
The roll out of the new service on AT&T's international calling package comes close on the heels of the carrier's last-week acquisition of Mexico City-based wireless service provider Iusacell, in a $2.5 billion deal. Iusacell presently has nearly 8.6 million subscribers in Mexico; with the company's market reach comprising approximately 70 percent of the Mexican population.
Drawing attention to the fact that AT&T, under its international calling plans, already offers unlimited text, photo and video messaging services to some select markets in the world, David Christopher - Chief Marketing Officer at AT&T Mobility - said in a recent press release that AT&T's wireless customers in the US make calls to Mexico more than any other foreign country.
Christopher said: "Mexico is the most frequently dialed country among our wireless customers -- and now they can call as much as they want with our enhanced World Connect Value package."
