LG unveils G Flex 2 curved-screen smartphone
At the recently-concluded 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, bigwig device maker LG Electronics unveiled its much-anticipated G Flex 2 smartphone --- the company's second device with a curved display.
The G Flex 2 handset introduced by LG features a 5.5-inch P-OLED full high-definition curved display, with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 at 403 ppi. The size of the new LG handset's display is in line with that of the Apple iPhone 6 Plus model; and is marginally smaller than the 5.7-inch display of the Samsung Galaxy Note.
Moreover, as compared to LG's original G Flex, the new G Flex 2 has a comparatively less pronounced curve in its display. As a result, the G Flex 2 will apparently appeal more to the customers as compared to its predecessor because it is a smaller sized, easier-to-handle curved handset.
One of the most noteworthy 'firsts' for the new LG G Flex 2 handset is that it is the first smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm's new, impressively-upgraded Snapdragon 810 processor --- an energy efficient, Octa-Core 64-bit processor which has been optimized for Android 'Lollipop' OS.
In addition to the stunningly and conveniently curved display and the powerful new Qualcomm processor, some of the other key features of the G Flex 2 handset include 2GB RAM and a 13 megapixel rear camera. The handset has already received rave reviews; and has been described by The Verge as the "first excellent curved smartphone."
