GM to unveil expanded OnStar in-vehicle concierge service at CES

In an announcement made on Sunday, General Motors (GM) said that it plans to unveil significantly expanded OnStar in-vehicle concierge service this week, at the 2015 Consumers Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Announcing the new set of connected car features which it plans to exhibit at the CES event, GM revealed that its subscription-based OnStar program will launch AtYourService in the US in the coming weeks. The move essentially underscores an expansion of GM's connected-car effort.

The forthcoming AtYourService offering will primarily unfold two key advantages for road trippers --- the ability to find and book a hotel through; and to locate the nearest Dunkin' Donuts outlet.

With GM's wholly-owned subsidiary OnStar receives over 35 million requests for directions in North America every year, GM has revealed that the expansion of the service will come with another notable benefit --- when an OnStar adviser is contacted by a driver for directions, coupons for the destination will be served to the driver from RetailMeNot and Entertainment Book.

Noting that OnStar aims at providing drivers even more efficiency and value in the connected car, OnStar's consumer online officer Mark Lloyd said in a statement: "We will continue to innovate in ways that make our customers' time on the road more efficient and more convenient."
