Twitter rolls out new ‘App Graph’ feature
Twitter has recently revealed in a statement on its website that it has rolled out a new feature - called 'App Graph' - which will enable the popular microblogging service to see the other apps which have been installed by users on their mobile devices.
The new App Graph feature will essentially give Twitter the ability to track all the third-party apps which users have downloaded on their iOS and Android devices. Twitter has, however, asserted that it will not collect users' personal information from within the apps.
To incorporate the App Graph feature, Twitter has made a change in the terms and conditions of its app, and has also launched a support page to explain what it will be doing with the new feature. Obviously, the wording used by Twitter has been designed to sound that the App Graph feature will beneficial for Twitter users.
About the advantages of the App Graph feature for users of the popular social media site, Twitter said that the feature will allow it to deliver more "tailored content," including relevant advertisements.
In a statement on its website, the company asserted: "To help build a more personal Twitter experience for you, we are collecting and occasionally updating the list of apps installed on your mobile device so we can deliver tailored content that you might be interested in."
