Facebook rolls out new News Feed controls
On Friday, social network Facebook rolled out some new News Feed controls which enable users to manage the flow of content which is relayed over the primary channel of the site.
The new controls were rolled out by Facebook across its desktop as well as mobile platforms.
With countless Facebook users complaining that they have to deal with a flood of undesirable posts of boring people they cannot somehow unfollow or unfriend, the new controls give them the ability to ban these people from showing up in their News Feeds.
Thanks to the new controls, a click on the top right side of a post now unfolds the option of blocking tedious posts, while still continuing to be friends with people who send such posts. Other than blocking undesirable posts, the new controls also allow users to see less of unwanted stuff in their News Feeds.
Noting that the new News feed controls are a result of Facebook users' feedback about what they want to see in their News Feeds to get the experience they desire, Greg Marra - product manager at Facebook - said in reference to the new controls: "You decide who you want to connect to, and what Pages and public figures you want to follow."
