On Monday, Seamus P. McCaffery, Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice, has been suspended with a 4-1 vote of his court colleagues. The Supreme Court suspended Justice Seamus P. McCaffery with pay in connection with an email porn scandal.

According to the court, justice McCaffery has been suspended to protect judicial system's integrity. Where four justices favored the suspension, one justice, apart from McCaffery, didn't vote for suspension.

According to Castille, McCaffery's tried to blame others for his behavior bordered on sociopathic.

McCaffery did not comment following the decision, but recently he has apologized for involving in email porn scandal.

McCaffery's suspension with pay will remain until the state Judicial Conduct Board decides whether formal charges should be brought against the justice. In 2007, McCaffery was elected as a Democrat to the Supreme Court, and now after seven years, he has been suspended. If the state Judicial Conduct Board takes disciplinary action against him, he could be removed from the bench and can also loss of his license to practice law.

According to court, McCaffery had exchanged a number of pornographic emails with lawyers in the Pennsylvania attorney general's office. The court stated that these emails have been exchanged during the years when Tom Corbett was attorney general. Currently, Tom Corbett is governor.

Earlier, Corbett has forced several former lawyers in the Pennsylvania attorney general's office to resign their current state jobs. These lawyers were implicated in the scandal, which came into light during an investigation by Kathleen Kane, the current attorney general. Kane was investigation how Corbett handled the child sex abuse allegations against Jerry Sandusky, Pennsylvania State University's former assistant coach.
