Microsoft apparently set to unveil ‘Windows 9’ OS on Sept 30
At the invitation-only event in San Francisco on Tuesday, September 30, software giant Microsoft will likely unveil the next major version of its Windows operating system, which is codenamed 'Threshold.'
The forthcoming unveiling of the new Windows OS on September 30 was inadvertently disclosed by Alain Crozier - the president of Microsoft France - during a recent press conference in France.
Crozier told the reporters at the press conference that Microsoft's September 30-scheduled event - for nearly 50 press representatives and analysts - will apparently witness the introduction of the 'Windows 9' OS by the company.
Crozier said that 'Windows 9' OS will be discussed at the upcoming event. While the new OS has been codenamed 'Threshold,' Crozier was the first Microsoft executive to publicly name the OS as 'Windows 9.' However, it is not yet confirmed whether Microsoft will use 'Windows 9' as the name for the new OS.
Meanwhile, with Microsoft executives expected to set the stage for Windows 9's first public test build called 'Windows Technical Preview for Enterprise' at the forthcoming event, Crozier told reporters: "Last year, we were with a Windows 8 release....In a few days we will release our new OS, Windows 9."
