Olympic Gymnast McKayla Maroney Underage in Hacked Nude Pictures

It has emerged that naked photographs of gold medal-winning US gymnast that recently surfaced on internet were actually taken when she was a minor. The gymnast has decided to take legal action against the sites that have published them.

An unknown hacker had obtained Maroney's private naked photographs and published them on social networking and pornography sites.

Attorney of McKayla Maroney has issued a legal letter, demanding the pictures to be removed as she was a minor when the pictures were taken.

According to Porn. com, it had removed the nude photographs of Maroney after receiving the letter from her attorney.

Maroney's friends and fellow gymnasts, who won the team gold at the London 2012 Games, have said that the gymnast had fallen victim to a hacker.

Aly Raisman, a teammate of McKayla Maroney, said, "This scandal is not a joke and it is upsetting that an invasion of privacy results in entertainment for some". She also said that people should respect the fact that the images were Maroney's private property and other people have no right to see them.

Maroney has thanked fans via Twitter for supporting her in crucial time.

Liz Lee, MTV actress, is another hacking victim. She said that she too is minor in her photographs. Her ex-boyfriend had taken the photographs when she was 16. According to her, a website has no right to post nude images of anyone who is underage.

Reddit, social networking service website, has confirmed that the photographs of Maroney and Lee would be removed.

Attorney of McKayla Maroney has said that she has owned copyright of photographs and websites have to remove the images as soon as possible.
