Kraft Recalls 7,691 Cases of American Singles Cheese
On Friday, Kraft Foods Group made a voluntary recall for 7,691 cases of Kraft American Singles Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product. The company has recalled the select varieties of the product as a supplier had not stored an ingredient used in the product as per the company’s temperature standards.
Due to improper storage of ingredient, premature spoilage or food borne illness could be noticed for the recalled lot. In total, four varieties have been affected having ‘Best When Used By’ dates of February 20, 2015, and February 21, 2015. Consumers can look out for the information on the bottom of the product package.
Other than the recalled lots, no other product of Kraft Singles has been recalled. Till now, the company has not received any report of illness due to the recalled products. The company informed that these products have not been distributed outside America.
Kraft said anyone who has purchased the recalled product should not eat it. Consumers can return the products to the store from where they have bought it and can have the complete refund or can exchange the product.
The affected product is limited to 12-ounce, two 16-ounce and 64-ounce Kraft American Singles packages. Consumers can contact Kraft Foods Consumer Relations at 1-800-396-5512 between 9 am and 6pm E.T.
Kraft Foods have issued many recalls this year. In January, the company recalled 1.77 million pounds of ‘Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets’. It was said to have allergens. The company also recalled 260 cases of Velveeta, as the product was found to be having insufficient level of sorbic acid.
In April, it recalled 96,000 pounds of ‘Oscar Mayer Classic Wieners’ as the product could have the company’s ‘Classic Cheese Dogs’.
