Verizon bags top rank in latest National RootScore Report
According to the second, semi-annual National RootScore Report, the wireless carrier Verizon Wireless has once again bagged the top rank for overall network performance among all the wireless providers in the country.
The latest National RootScore report has revealed that the rankings of Verizon Wireless were the highest in five categories, including the award for Overall Performance. In addition, Verizon also led the state rankings with more wins or ties for Overall Performance in 48 states.
For the RootScore report, the Seattle-based RootMetrics mobile analytics firm ranked the four leading US wireless carriers - Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile - in six categories --- Overall Performance, Reliability, Data, Speed, Call and Text.
Verizon won, or tied, for the top rankings in the Overall Performance, Reliability, Speed, Data and Call categories. Rival AT&T was almost as good as Verizon in the Reliability category.
In reference to Verizon's top ranking in the National RootScore Report, Mike Haberman - Verizon's VP of Network Support - said that Verizon's ultra-high-speed 4G LTE network (XLTE) currently covers over twice the geography of rivals' 4G LTE network; and added: "The expansion of the network's bandwidth with XLTE in more than 350 markets has resulted in even better network performance for all customers on our 4G LTE network."
